Finding the comedy in dementia

It's hard to imagine a comedy show about dementia, but British comedian Gordon Southern has done just that, with his one hour stand-up show Long Story Short. In it, he focuses on the experience of dealing with his dad's dementia in a light-hearted and poignant way.

Long Story Short is a beautiful show about families, day trips, and how you shouldn’t always meet your heroes. A joke packed narrative that swoops between Edinburgh and Wellington, with a funny and moving look at Alzheimers and Dementia this is comedy for the heart and the head. It's being performed right here in Auckland as part of the 2017 NZ International Comedy Festival powered by Flick Electric Co.
