Get your sneakers on, and your steps in, for a great cause.

Join us for the 2018 Walk for Dementia – an opportunity to walk in memory, or support, of a loved one living with dementia.

Taking place on Sunday March 25th in Mission Bay, the free, 5km Walk for Dementia is the perfect opportunity for an autumn stroll, so don’t retire your sneakers for a winter of hibernation just yet!

There will be refreshments and entertainment to enjoy in the fresh air with your friends and family – and plenty of opportunities to donate to Dementia Auckland, or challenge your friends or family to help you fundraise. As well as the pride of fundraising for a great organisation, your support will mean that even more people affected by dementia in your community can access our services.

This February we are running our first TradeMe Online Auction, which will be promoted to Countdown staff throughout New Zealand as well as 1,000 Rotarians here in Auckland and to the general public.
 
The auction will run in mid February for 9 days and we have already got many businesses on board to make it a great success, from restaurants to well-known tourist attractions to sports memorabilia.

Sorry fellas, this one is just for the ladies – a luxury lunch at the beautiful Tamaki Yacht Club in April to raise money for Dementia Auckland. Come along for a delectable meal, cheeky lunchtime drinks, some fabulous entertainment, and great company.

Friday the 15th of December will see a group of Ray White real estate agents and other generous volunteers hitting the streets to raise money for Dementia Auckland, who help people with dementia and their carers to live well. The Fine Homes Tour went off with a bang again this year, raising $10,000 for Dementia Auckland, as well as similar amounts for Devonport Rotary Charitable Trust, Cure Kids and Plunket NZ. The always exciting 'big cheque' was presented to our Chief Executive Rod Perkins at Bayleys Devonport by North Shore MP Maggie Barry.

All our thanks must go to Devonport Rotary for their hard work in putting on the event, as well as Devonport Bayleys Real Estate Limited, the other local businesses who supported the event, and everyone who attended. Your support enables us to help people with dementia and their carers to live well.

 

 

 
We are so looking forward to this year's Fine Homes Tour of Devonport, run by Devonport Rotary with the support of Devonport Bayleys Real Estate Limited. Along with three other worthy charities, this fantastic event will raise funds for Dementia Auckland's free socialisation services, providing respite for carers and stimulating activities for people with dementia. For just $60, attendees will be treated to a tour of 10 stunning homes and a beautiful garden, showcasing the best of Devonport's architecture and interior design.

Our annual Symposium, sponsored by Westpac, took place on Sunday the 27th of August at Waipuna Hotel & Conference Centre. With a theme of Practical Information, it was jam packed full of just that! Everyone who attended gained some fantastic knowledge from our speakers, and we loved meeting so many people who are affected by or involved with dementia in some way.
